Problem casting on

Hi Anne
I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same problem. When casting on over my Knitmaster 700 and SRP60 Ribber with three strands of 2/30s acrylic, one strand randomly fails to be caught by the ribber needles. This has also happened when using two strands of 2-ply wool. Similarly, when knitting either 2x1 or 1x1 rib, one strand will also occasionally fail to be knitted by the ribber.

Feel the width

With reference to the letter from Marilyn Hurst in Wigan on felting on page 15 of the September issue on MKM, this reminded me that people do not always think of knitting in the round to get a wider piece to felt.

Wow! Brilliant!

My first impression on opening the September issue was ‘Wow! Brilliant’ and I still think the same on opening the October mag. I think the new layout is super and all-colour just lifts the mag into a completely new class.

I thought you might be interested in the attached, all done with Opal 4-ply sock yarn. For those who don’t know, it’s the printed sock yarn that makes its own patterns. The yarns are up-dated each year so these four will not be available now and each ball weighs 100 grams.

Pen Pal Wanted

Many thanks for your lovely machine knitting magazine, which I enjoy receiving and reading. I’ve a Brother KH830 and can no longer use the punchcards as the mechanism doesn’t work, but I can still do plain knitting. I was wondering if anyone could help me locally to get it working again, as all the outlets in Plymouth have gone.
