Finding useful information on Machine Knitting in one place.

I would like to make some knitting with the cancer ribbon motif on them but I can't find a pattern anywhere.

I'm soon retiring from my 'bread and butter' PI business and want to make my machine knitting profitable so I'd like to see articles about how to organize a machine knitting area in one's home. I've seen other magazines addressing craft needs (Interweave's 'Studio' magazine) but no-one yet seems to have tackled yarn crafts.
Sue Bond has e-mailed to ask if we would tell you about the Donkey Sanctuary appeal for keen knitters to come forward to help create hand-knitted woolly donkeys to raise funds for the centre.
I thought it would be interesting if readers contributed their ideas for less commonly knitted items. For example:
I needed a band to put around a square Christmas cake, and couldn't get to the shops - remember all that snow and ice just before Christmas? So I knitted one.
