I'm looking for a sweater which some call a cocoon sweater, but I don't think that's what it is.

I want to knit a sweater with Fair Isle from the armhole up. As I'm using 4-ply Forsell wool for the main body and then knitting Fair Isle just at the top, won't the different thickness be noticeable? I've never done this type of sweater before and as I am using a good wool, I don't want to waste it by doing it incorrectly.
