Dear Anne
I have recently solved a problem I had when doing ‘cut and sew’ necklines. It has always been difficult to keep the knitting ‘square’ to mark the neckline out! When preparing to ‘cut and sew’ last week, I thought of my Swatch Board from B Hague & Co Ltd. The knitted front clung to the board wonderfully and stayed put, while I marked the neck with the assistance of Carl Boyd's Cut and Sew Template. Result - a well balanced neck and 100% success at last! After 54 years of machine knitting I have made a wonderful discovery - never too old to learn, are we! Maybe other knitters thought of this a long time ago, but it may be of use to somebody.
Sue Bond has e-mailed to ask if we would tell you about the Donkey Sanctuary appeal for keen knitters to come forward to help create hand-knitted woolly donkeys to raise funds for the centre.
Hi Anne
I really had to e-mail you and let you know how super I found the Twice As Nice pattern in the March edition. I started it around 1.30 pm on Saturday and by 3.30 pm was wearing it.
I have recently purchased a second hand knitmaster 700. Unfortunatly it is missing the original punchcards, point cams and magic cams.I have looked on the web, but find it confusing. Can anyone point me to a supplier of these items?
Hi Anne
I sent a letter you printed in the February magazine asking if any of your readers came from the Dewsbury area of West Yorkshire. June got in touch and I replied to her letter in late November 09. She was returning to machine knitting after about 20 years and when she opened her Brother knitting machine 850 (I think), it was a bit rusty so she wanted help to clean it.
