Cast-ons MKC
Due to rising costs, the venue for meetings of Cast-ons MKC in Stopsley, Luton has changed. The new venue is The Warden Hill Community Centre in Wycombe Way, Luton. It’s at the rear of The Warden Beefeater on the A6 (LU3 2BL for Sat Nav users). We meet on Monday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30 pm. During the winter it’s monthly and we go back to meeting fortnightly for the lighter evenings. We’re a small friendly club which welcomes new members who need help getting back into machine knitting or those want to start a new hobby. Over the past two years members have knitted for the premature baby unit at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital, made hats for sailors and are currently knitting hats for the army. All members take a great interest in the magazine and try out some of the techniques, or help each other out if they’re having problems with a pattern. For club details call Maureen on 01582-882786, Sue on 01582 450662 or e-mail .

WOODLEY MACHINE KNITTING CLUB
Valerie Thorn, 0118-932 0140
7.30 pm on The 1st and 3rd Thur of month. | Every two weeks
The Woodley Machine Knitting Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month (except August and December) at 7.30 pm in The Tea Room, Woodford Park Pavilion, Woodford Park, Haddon Drive, Woodley, Reading, Berkshire RG5 4LY. Our membership numbers exceed 30 and consist of experienced knitters, some beginners and others returning to the craft after years away. We are interested in all crafts that can be used with machine knitting, i.e. hand knitting, crochet, embellishing, fabric painting, embroidery, beading and so on. Our programme includes regular speakers as well as very popular members evenings when we discuss knitting projects, show what we have been making, ask questions and practice on the club machine. During the year we may arrange a course for beginners or on special techniques as well as a knit-In weekend at a local hall where our machines can be safely left overnight. For information please see our website: http://www.woodleymkc.co.uk, or email Mavis Ballinger, . New members and visitors will be assured of a warm welcome.
