The Brisbane Passap Knitting Club presents the 2009 Passap Workshop.
When? Friday, 24 July 2009 - 8:30 am to 4:00 pm - If demand is high, a repeat workshop will be held on Saturday, 25 July.
Where? Assembly of God Church Hall, Corner Hamilton and Phingst Roads, Chermside, Qld. Chermside is on the northside of Brisbane.
Who is the Demonstrator? Ann Baxter of New Zealand. This is Ann’s first visit to Australia and is exclusive to Queensland.
Ann has been knitting for about 30 years, starting on a Pink Passap and progressing on to a Duo 80 and the E6000. She has been
involved at NZMKS (New Zealand Machine Knitters’ Society) area level for about 25 years, starting as a local Passap demonstrators.
Currently, Ann is a Southland Councillor and is on the National Tutor’s list.
Ann has her own knitwer shop in Gore and knits garments between customers. She know sometimes knits on a Brother fine guage for
larger sizes and an Empisal 100 for double knits. Most of her knitting is everyday cardigans for elderly customers but also does
one-off garments to enter in the Hokonui Fashion Design Awards. Before she had the shop, jacquard was her speciality but now does
lots of stocking stitch plus cut & sew garments using felt she makes herself.
What to bring? Lunch, Mug & Name Tag.
What else is happening? Traders, Lucky Door Prizes, Multi-draw Raffle
Cost: $40 for the full day demonstration, includes notes and tea/coffee.
